Course Overview Throughout the semester, students will build a hypothetical brand and design a packet of the visual marketing materials including brand boards, logos, stickers, business cards, packages, brochures and gif animations. The goal is to understand and appreciate the entire process of branding in a nutshell so they can possibly use the skills into their own lives. Students who successfully completed the course are invited to retake the course to design a children's book.
Learning Objectives To develop familiarity with the advanced tools and techniques of page layout and illustration software applications. To apply design and problem-solving techniques to a variety of graphic design challenges. To develop writing and image-making skills for the expression of ideas and client needs. To understand the production sequence of printing graphics from the idea to the delivery. To develop an awareness of careers in graphics-related fields.
